Typically after completing the first level you'll find a treasure box with a weapon inside. Weapons can be found or bought from vendors. You can only carry a single weapon, by equipping one you find, you'll automatically drop the one you are wielding. With attacks that do rapid damage such as the Dual Daggers or Killer Bees, this changes the amount of damage done per hit.
